  • 10 kilometers in difficulty red
  • 5 kilometers in difficulty blue
  • a training track for beginners at least 500 meters long
  • all tracks must be double track

At least 5 kilometers must be usable at all weather conditions. Of course, snow cannot be missing – at least 80 days of snow per year are required. The snow cover must be about 10 cm high. There must be parking spaces near the cross-country ski runs.

The individual cross-country skiing specialists are the regions Achensee, Hohe Salve, Kaiserwinkel, Kitzbühel Alps – St. Johann in Tyrol, East Tyrol, Ötztal, Paznaun-Ischgl, Pillerseetal, Seefeld, Tannheimer Tal as well as Nauders-Tiroler Oberland-Kaunertal.

The accommodations in the regions that specialize in cross-country skiing are quality-certified and offer cross-country skiers not only bed and meals but also important tips for cross-country skiing and information about refreshments in between, very important on long trails.

In order to be certified as accommodation by the province of Tyrol, the facilities must not be located further than 3 kilometers from the nearest cross-country skiing trail entrance. If this is not available, there must be a cleaning service against payment.
